Affectionate Hands Adult Family Home LLC provides intimate, personalized care in a warm, home-like setting — not an institution. Up to 4 residents, real relationships, real dignity.
Who We Are
We are committed to working in a community environment with physically, mentally and developmentally challenged people. Our mission is to enable every resident to develop to their fullest potential in a supportive environment, regardless of their medical frailties.
Our philosophy is simple: all individuals, regardless of ability, should have the same opportunities as others. We provide a home-like atmosphere that encourages independence and connects residents to community supports.
Our Story
Affectionate Hands AFH Milwaukee, L.L.C. opened on June 2, 2026 and is already growing into 2 homes providing services to people with disabilities.
Our homes serve those with both developmental and physical disabilities, older adults, and people with increased medical and mental health needs — all with varying abilities and needs, all equally deserving of dignity and quality care.
Why Choose Us
Choosing Affectionate Hands means choosing a deeply personal, home-like living environment — with all the safety and professional oversight families need.
With a maximum of 4 residents, the environment feels like a real private home rather than an institution — greatly reducing feelings of isolation and sensory overload.
Our low resident count means caregivers deeply understand your routines, dietary preferences, and daily rhythms. Care plans are customized and adapt as needs evolve.
Licensed and regulated by Wisconsin's Division of Quality Assurance (DQA) with mandatory background checks, regular safety inspections, and trained staff for medication assistance.
Residents receive 24-hour care and supervision, alongside up to 7 hours of skilled nursing care per week directly within the home.
What We Provide
Comprehensive daily support designed around each resident's individual needs and preferences.
Medications stored in locked cabinets per State codes. Trained staff assist with taking medications as prescribed and packed by the pharmacy, monitored only when ordered by a physician.
Three nutritious, home-cooked meals prepared daily. Snacks available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week upon request. Dietary preferences always accommodated.
The house supervisor coordinates all health care — scheduling doctor, dentist, specialist, and therapist visits. All medical visits and medication changes are documented in each resident's file.
We provide transportation to medical appointments, outings, and more using the company's insured vehicle with a valid licensed driver. Just let staff know where you'd like to go!
The house supervisor meets with residents to address any concerns or problems. Problem-solving skills are encouraged and referrals are made to other professionals as appropriate.
Supporting community awareness, self-advocacy, community mobility, budgeting skills, and safety awareness — all designed to further promote independence.
Staff assist with personal care as needed, including daily living skills such as bathing, dressing, eating, and grooming — always encouraging independence where possible.
A savings account can be set up in the resident's name. Residents are encouraged to spend wisely and budget for clothing, recreation, and personal items — with spending logs kept for their representative payee.
Activities range from day programs, music, cooking, crafting, and exercise to library visits, shopping malls, restaurants, nature hikes, picnics, sporting events, and special community events scheduled throughout the year.
Every resident has an individually locked room with their own key. Files are kept in a locked cabinet required by the State, and a Consent to Disclose is signed before any information is shared with outside parties.
Full housekeeping, accommodations, and daily living assistance included so residents can focus on living comfortably and independently.
Emergency plans for fire, severe weather, and other situations. Monthly fire drills, alarm systems, safety pendants, and community safety measures all in place.
